A consultant from the Kelly Sears firm will have to identify how savings can be achieved within the Translation Bureau. Claude Poirier, president of the Canadian Association of Professional Employees, fears a decline in the quality of translations. Holiday Lunch at the LTRC

On December 19, the LTRC hosted its Holiday Lunch. Sixty or so people gathered to celebrate in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The results of a major survey on the use of the language technologies, led by AnneMarie Taravella (PhD student in Administration at the University of Sherbrooke), for the Language Technologies Research Centre, are now available. OTTIAQ's Annual Conference

The Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ) will be holding its Annual Conference on November 18. This year’s theme is : Valoriser son titre, ça commence par soi.  A Continuing Education Day will also be offered on Saturday, November 19. The event will take place at the Centre Mont-Royal, at 2200 rue Mansfield in Montreal.

ATIO's ''Grammar Boot Camp''

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) is organizing an intensive “Grammar Boot Camp” over October 29 and 30th, 2011.  The event, open to the public, will be a chance to flex your grammar muscles.  The workshop will be led by Frances Peck, editor, writer and instructor with over 20 years’ experience.
